TCAT-S029 is a delayed-action, hydrolysis-resistant organotin catalyst developed to address the issue of conventional organometallic catalysts gradually losing their activity—and failing to remain stable during long-term storage—when exposed to systems containing trace amounts of water, acids, or bases. Similar to imported organotin catalysts such as UL-29 and KOSMOS 16, TCAT-S029 offers the following characteristics:
Excellent delayed-action properties, providing an extended flow period. As a delayed-action catalyst, TCAT-S029 significantly prolongs the duration during which a mixture remains in a low-viscosity, flowable state compared to T-12.
A thermally activated gelling catalyst that facilitates rapid post-curing. It exhibits low catalytic activity at room temperature, which increases significantly as the temperature rises. It strongly promotes the reaction between -NCO and -OH groups, making it ideal for molding processes that require rapid curing at elevated temperatures—such as the pultrusion of high-strength polyurethane composites, the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process for automotive protective panels, and the production of complex structural components or large cast parts. Furthermore, it offers superior hydrolysis resistance compared to T-12.
